Frankley School Newsletter
Term 1, Week 4, 23 February 2021
Kia ora koutou, Talofa lava, Hola, Konnichiwa, Kumusta, Namaste, Ni hao, Guten Tag, Hallo, Mauri, Hej, Assalamualaikum, Bonjour
An early newsletter this week as there are a few events to make you aware of. Please read the details below. We would love to have you with us to celebrate our school community, and children’s efforts. Keep an eye on the school website calendar for future events.
LATENESS - A number of Frankley school children are late for school in the mornings. This creates an unsettled start to the day for our children and teachers, making it hard to gain momentum and holding up the hub programme. Please ensure your child is at school on time to support all our children’s learning time.
Have a super week.

Splash and Dash/Triathlon - Friday 26 February
11.20 - 12.50pm on the school field
The children will need to CHOOSE if they are doing either Splash and Dash OR Triathlon. The hub teachers will talk the children through the options. The triathlon is a FAST event not a long triathlon.
Triathlon - Children must be able to put on their own helmets and shoes. Please note, no parents will be allowed to be by the bikes. The children will be supported by teachers. Bikes will need to be lined up over by the trees by the path in the morning.
The Splash and Dash event will run through first in the age groups below followed by the Triathlon. Please be aware that there is not a set start time for each age group.
Seniors first - This allows the seniors to help the younger tamariki after their event:

Beach Picnic Day Friday 5 March 2021
Our annual visit to Ngamotu Beach, weather dependent, will take place on Friday 5 March. There is NO POSTPONEMENT DATE. If the weather should be unsuitable the picnic will be cancelled. Please check our Facebook page.
Suitable clothing, footwear, sunhat, sun block and swimming gear will be required. All food to be in a suitable container, and a drink bottle is essential.
Each learning hub will participate in the following activities: swim, beach games, sand sculpting and digging.
The swim at the beach will be under close supervision from staff and parents. Children will use the NPDC changing rooms (this will also be closely supervised). We require adults to be in the water from 11:00am - 12:40pm and then from 1:15pm - 1:35pm.
Please contact the office if you’re able to assist admin@frankley.school.nz. We need and would love your support with this activity.
We encourage whānau: parents, grandparents, and friends to come along and have a picnic with your children.
